Description

Condition Report

DEWITT - a gentleman's Twenty 8 Eight tourbillon wrist watch. Number 12/99. Numbered AG00295. Signed manual wind calibre 8028. Silvered dial with quarterly Roman numeral hour markers, exposed balance to six. Titanium bezel. 18ct white gold case with exhibition case back, fitted to a signed blue crocodile strap with a white metal pin buckle stamped 750. 43mm. Box. The De Witt Watch Company was launched in 2003 with an unusual proposition; being the direct familial link between the founder Jerome De Witt and both Napoleon I and King Leopold of Belgium. The company's watchmaking credentials were quickly established as in 2005 they won first prize for innovation at the Grand Prix de Horology de GenÞve for their Academia Tourbillon Differential. The Twenty 8 Eight tourbillon is a tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte who was proclaimed 'Emperor of the French' on 28th Floréal, the eighth month of the Republican calendar. Produced in a limited series of 99 pieces completely in-house, the movement bears the signature of the single watchmaker who assembled, and adjusted the movement from start to finish.

Please note: When placing absentee bids, your bids will be rounded up to the nearest bid increment. For more information click the 'Important Notices for Purchasers' button above.
