Condition Report

A late 19th century gold gem-set memorial brooch. The old-cut diamond, within a scrolling split pearl surround, to the scalloped panel sides highlighted with oval turquoise cabochons. Length 3.9cms. Weight 4.6gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear and age. The old-cut diamond is bright and lively. Small light and dark inclusions can be seen under magnification, some of which are surface reaching. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The turquoise show various hues of colour from bright blue to bluish green, some may be replacement. The split pearls are well matched with a white body colour, and muted lustre.
