Condition Report

A late Victorian 18ct gold ruby and diamond cluster ring. The oval-shape ruby, within a rose-cut diamond surround, to the tapered shoulders and plain band. Hallmarks for Chester, 1898. Weight 4gms.

  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. There are inclusions visible to many and some surface reaching inclusions.

  • Ruby medium red, well saturated, with fair clarity and some visible typical inclusions.

  • Stone in good condition with minor abrasions and chips to the facet edges.
