Condition Report

A George III gold memorial brooch. Designed as a marquise-shape decorative hair panel with mother of pearl and split peal decoration to the engraved border and personal engraving to the reverse. Length 3.2cms. Weight 5gms.

Purchasing information
    The condition of this lot is good to fair, with surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with age and wear. Indents and discolouration to either edge of the brooch reverse, measuring 1.2cms to each side. Looks to have previously been a clasp and there is solder visible where there clasp sections were. Engraving to reverse reads 'AW 11th April 1787'.
