Condition Report

A late Victorian 18ct gold and garnet memorial brooch. Of circular outline, the circular garnet cabochon and fancy-link chain surround, raised within a similarly-shaped garnet and interwoven rope-twist circle, to the rope-twist edge and glazed reverse. Diameter 4.4cms. Weight 16.2gms.

Purchasing information
    The overall condition of this lot is good, with surface scratches and discolouration to the metal in keeping with age and wear. Garnet is of good saturation with red to pink hues throughout. Dent to the outer edge of the rope-twist border. Further dents, scratches and discoloured areas to the reverse. Dirt to front would benefit from cleaning. Reverse glazed panel contains black and white photograph depicting a man and woman in Naval uniforms.
