Condition Report

A mid 19th century gold gem-set 'Regard' locket. Of heart-shape outline, the replacement vari-shape ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, diamond and turquoise, to the floral and foliate surround and reverse. Length 4cms. Weight 8.2gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear and age.

  • Gems vary in hue tone and saturation.

  • Diamond bright and lively.

  • Light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen with magnification.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate and full colour and clarity assessment.

  • Stones in good to fair condition, with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Vacant glazed panel to inner compartment.
