Condition Report

A late Victorian gold garnet foliate pendant. The textured foliate line with graduated pear-shape foil back garnet sides. Length 4cms. Weight 3.6gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Later converted from another item of jewellery.
  • File marks and alterations to the fittings. No definitive surmount loop.
  • Few possible replacement garnets, ill-fitting to mounts.
  • Garnets are foil back, garnets appear a well matched medium deep reddish purple hue, some deterioration to foil backing.

  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
