A Victorian Scottish silver three piece tea service.

Condition Report

A mid-Victorian Scottish silver three piece tea service comprising a teapot, twin-handled sugar bowl and a cream jug, each of panel sided bellied form with applied C scroll and foliate borders above floral scroll engraving throughout, with scrolled handles and each raised on four splayed feet, also with scroll detail, the teapot with domed and hinged lid. Hallmarked James McKay, Edinburgh 1859. Maximum teapot length measures 10 1/4 inches (26 cm), gross weight 45.91 ozt (1428 grams).

Purchasing information
    The tea service appears in good overall condition, displaying some general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some slight dints/impressions from feet, etc. Heavier tarnishing and staining to interior of the teapot. Hinged lid of teapot appears in working order. Contact marks from the lid opening and closing around the rim of the teapot. Some rubbing and slight distortion but the hallmarks are still legible.
