Description

Condition Report

A Queen Anne Britannia silver mug, of slightly tapering plain outline to a spread base, with engraved and initialled shield shape crest to one side and a simple scroll handle with shaped thumb rest and terminal. Hallmarked London 1713, maker's mark partly worn, possibly an 'S' and conjoined 'TH'. Height measures 5 1/8 inches (13 cm), weight 13.7 ozt (426 grams).

Please note: When placing absentee bids, your bids will be rounded up to the nearest bid increment. For more information click the 'Important Notices for Purchasers' button above.

Purchasing information
The mug displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some dints and bumps and slight knocks to the foot rim. The metal feels quite thin at the centre of the engraved crest and there is a small crack starting to appear through the 'W'. This is also visible to the interior. Some loss of definition to the handle terminal and thumb rest. Hallmarks are quite rubbed and partly worn, maker's mark is also just visible to the handle but difficult to read clearly.
