Condition Report
A late 19th century 18ct gold garnet and gem-set brooch. Designed as two oval-shape garnet and circular-shape colourless gem lines, within a tapered surround, with filigree detail, to the tapered panel terminals and later brooch fitting. Length 5.2cms. Total weight 7.2gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- The brooch was originally a pair of earrings, which have been soldered together and added to a later possibly metal brooch fitting.
- There are areas of solder to the back and inbetween the tapered drops, where they have been soldered together. Scratches and areas of discolouration to the later brooch fitting.
- Some of the stones appear a little loose with the settings and would need to be secured.
- Garnets pinkish purple with a good saturation of colour.
- There are some areas of abrasion to the colourless gems just visible with the unaided eye.
