Condition Report

A late 19th century gold coral, split pearl and blue enamel star brooch. The oval coral cabochon and split pearl star, within a blue enamel surround. Length 3.3cms. Weight 4.4gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement back brooch fitting, with additional backing panel.
  • The coral is well matched, visible abrasion to one of the smaller cabochons.
  • The larger split pearls are well matched with a cream body colour, slight imperfections visible.
  • The smaller outer split pearls have a slightly greyer body colour.
  • Chips and areas of abrasion visible to the blue enamel with magnification.
