A 19th century Blue John urn Blue John Cavern vein group Of neoclassical ovoid form with ball finial and mushroom knop over ribbed spreading fixed 'cover', the shouldered body with ribbed collar on a spreading socle and white marble plinth, 200mm high, 1,268gms.

Finial may be later. two chips to mushroom knop. Losses to rin beneath knop, plus a join below. Chips to shoulder, and other losses to band beneath with join below. Socle could be associated. Glued on to base, slightly off-centre and has an old dark fine crack.
