A rare Blue John and bronze tableThe square top formed from a mosaic of assorted Blue John slices from various veins, including some pairs, within a sandwich of protective glass inset into a removable bronze frame on four monopodiae supports with X-stretcher, 46cm square x 70cm high.Provenance: Purchased for over 6,000 Euros at auction in Cannes, France from the dispersal sale of the Hotel Majestic, 10th August 2012, lot 539, described as "Table de salon nÚo-classique en bronze Ó patine brune. Plateau en spathfuor. DÚbut du XIXÞme siÞcle."

Purchasing information-
Some crude filling to joints/corners (as made). A few edge flakes. Protective glass above and beneath is slight rough to edges. Frame can be removed. Perhaps of later period than French cataloguing suggests.
