A mid Victorian 9ct gold garnet and split pearl ring. The graduated vari-shape foil-back garnet line, between split pearl spacers, to the engraved shoulders. One split pearl deficient. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1878. Weight 2gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear and age

- Garnets medium dark reddish purple, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions, some deterioration to the foil backing.
- Garnets in fair condition with abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
- Split pearls vary in appearance, colour and condition.
- Split pearls creamy to silvery-grey in colour.
- Split pearls in poor condition with heavy abrasion and peeling.
