A late 19th century gold diamond brooch.

Condition Report

A late 19th century gold diamond brooch. The old-cut diamond oval panel, within a cannetille scalloped surround, suspending an openwork panel and beaded drop. Length 5.5cms. Weight 10.2gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Localised scratches and discolouration to the back of the openwork panel, and one bead deficient.
  • Small areas of soft solder repair.
  • The openwork panel and drop has been later added.
  • Diamond bright and lively.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • The reverse glazed panel can be removed and is lined with purple cloth, and has a delicate beaded boarder.
  • Possible replacement pin.
