Condition Report

Two gem-set dress rings. To include a mid 20th century 18ct gold sapphire and diamond cluster ring and a 9ct gold synthetic opal single-stone ring. One diamond deficient. Estimated total diamond weight 0.20ct. One with hallmarks for Birmingham, 2008. Weight 4.5gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Areas of discolouration and wear to the sapphire cluster ring
  • One diamond deficient.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphires medium light blue, weak saturation of colour, with a profuse inclusion and areas of angular colour zoning visible with the unaided eye.

  • Stones in fair condition with abrasion, chips and nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
