Condition Report

An early to mid 19th century gold topaz and chrysoberyl five-stone ring. The alternating, graduated oval-shape foil-back pink topaz and cushion-shape foil-back chrysoberyl line, to the scrolling shoulders and tapered loop band. Ring size M. Weight 1.8gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The ring has possible replacement mid 19th century components, the head of the ring and the band put together at a later date.
  • Central topaz is a possible replacement, the foil backing is in better condition, deterioration to the foil visible to the other stones.
  • Typical inclusions to the gemstones, many visible with the unaided eye.
  • Visible surface abrasion to some.
