Condition Report

A 1970s 18ct gold opal and diamond pendant. The oval opal cabochon, within a brilliant-cut diamond and circular opal cabochon scroll and floral surround. May be worn as a brooch. Estimated total diamond weight 0.40ct. Hallmarks for London, 1973. Length 3.6cms. Weight 7.3gms.

  • Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear.

  • The pendant loop appears slightly bent. Drop deficient.

  • Opals greyish colour, displaying blues, greens and orangey pink. Central opal has flat patches.

  • Diamonds fairly bright, one diamond is chipped to the girdle.

  • Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour/clarity grade assessment.
