Condition Report

An early 20th century 18ct gold diamond and seed pearl miniature portrait brooch. The circular-shape miniature portrait depicting a child, within a rose-cut diamond trefoil and cultured pearl surround. Diameter 3.1cms. Weight 11.6gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Significant tarnishing to settings.
  • Solder repair visible to the surround.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.
  • Chips to some diamonds visible with magnification.
  • The cultured pearls are well matched, they have a white to pale cream body colour, displaying pinks and greens.
  • The portrait is in good fairly good condition, scratch visible to perspex cover.
