MURRLE BENNETT & CO. - an early 20th century 15ct gold opal brooch. The triangular-shape opal cabochon, within a scrolling openwork surround. Maker's marks for Murrle Bennett & Co. Length 3.3cms. Weight 4gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement clasp.
  • Mount with slight alterations, a claw added to the top of the opal setting.
  • Later safety chain.
  • Opal cabochon is very thin. Small matrix cavity to the surface.
  • Opal with fair play of colour, predominantly yellowish green hues.
  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
