Condition Report

A late Victorian 9ct gold split pearl bar brooch. The split pearl flower, with similarly-set tapered sides, to the cannetille and rope-twist bar. Hallmarks for Chester, 1894. Length 6.7cms. Weight 7.9gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The split pearls are well matched, they have a cream body colour, displaying pinks and greens, visible blemishes to some.
  • One split pearl has been glued secure.
  • The bar is bent out of shape and dented in places.
  • Replacement hinge, pin and clasp.
