Condition Report

A mid Victorian gold emerald and split pearl pendant. The rectangular-shape emerald and split pearl scrolling foliate drop, suspended from a similarly-set textured surmount, to the later integral chain. Length of pendant 2.5cms. Length of chain 41cms. Total weight 2.7gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement chain, with replacement back-chain of different links.
  • Pendant probably converted from a larger item.
  • Possible replacement gems.
  • Emeralds in closed back settings, presumed foil back.
  • Emeralds appear`` a fairly well matched deep medium slightly bluish green hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Stones in fair condition with moderate abrasions, one with a small chip/nibbles.
