Condition Report

A mid 19th century gold emerald and garnet pendant. The scroll engraved stylised knot, with overlaid oval-shape garnet and rectangular-shape emeralds, suspending a circular-shape garnet heart. Length 3.8cms. Weight 3.2gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Some settings appear worn and would need to be secured.
  • The drop is not original and appears to have been added, most components are late 19th century, the surmount loop and surmount are modern.
  • Garnets purplish pink with a moderate saturation of colour.
  • Typical inclusions to the circular-shape garnet visible with the unaided eye.
  • The emeralds are fairly well matched, light medium yellowish green with a weak to moderate saturation of colour, typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye.
  • Some possible replacement gemstones.
