A George III gold and split pearl memorial brooch. The marquise shape brooch with split pearl border, to the glazed front panel with seed pearl floral design to the reverse glazed woven hair panel with personal inscription around. Length 3.5cms. Weight 8.5gms.

Purchasing information-
The condition of this lot is fair, with surface scratches to the metal and glass in keeping with age and wear. Elements of the split pearl design to the interior of the brooch are loose within the glass. The personal inscription to the reverse reads to one edge 'Bryan Hodgson' and 'Eliz Hawkins died 22 Feb 1784 Agd 76'. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
