Condition Report

An early 19th century coral memorial brooch. The cushion-shape floral carved coral cabochon, within a circular-shape floral and foliate carved coral surround, to the glazed panel reverse. Pin deficient. Length 2.5cms. Weight 4.2gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Pin and hinge fitting deficient.
  • Clasp replacement.
  • Areas of soft solder visible to the reverse.
  • Glass with moderate abrasion to one end, discolouration to fabric.
  • Coral untested for natural colour origin.
  • Coral is a well matched slightly pinkish orange hue. Some small polyp holes.
