Condition Report

A late Georgian gold mourning miniature portrait lover's-eye ring, circa 1800. The oval-shape miniature depicting a blue-eye'd, brown haired lover's-eye miniature, with grooved surround and tapered shoulders. Personal inscription dated 1805. Ring size O. Weight 4.7gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear and general slight discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Few slightly deeper scratches.
  • Minor discolouration to the back of the band.
  • Personal engraving reads 'Dorcas Philip, died 7 Sep'r 1805, Aged 60.'.
  • Glass with general moderate abrasion and nicks to the edge of the mount. Further deep scratch/blemish to the underside of the glass.
  • Length of miniature 1.2cms.
  • Length of ring head 1.8cms.
