Condition Report

A late Victorian 15ct gold diamond locket, circa 1880. Of oval outline, the old-cut diamond, within a star setting, suspended from a tapered surmount. Estimated diamond weight 0.20ct. Length 6.6cms. Weight 31.7gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Shallow dents to the reverse of the locket.
  • Some areas of discolouration to the inner frame.
  • One inner glass panel is deficient.
  • Some claws to the diamond may need to be secured.
  • The diamond is bright and lively.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
