Condition Report

A diamond and ruby pendant. Of openwork design, the oval-shape ruby, within a single-cut diamond scrolling surmount, suspending a ruby drop. Estimated total diamond weight 0.35ct. Length 3.5cms. Weight 3.8gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The piece appeas to have been rhodium plated white. It may well originally be yellow metal.
  • Brooch pin is no long present to reverse.
  • The suspending to the surmount is not present. It has broken away. Small metal point are visible. These will need attention.
  • Diamond fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Rubies medium red to red orange, fairly well saturated, with moderate to fair clarity and typical inclusions, some surface reaching.

  • Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
