Condition Report

A mid Victorian gold, turquoise and garnet snake brooch. The coiled serpent, biting its tail, with graduated circular turquoise cabochon line crest, garnet eyes and engraved head. Length 5cms. Weight 9gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Slight pitting and slight discolouration to the reverse, possible small repairs.
  • Turquoise are a slightly mottled medium blue and slightly greenish blue.
  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
