Condition Report

An Edwardian 9ct gold garnet and split pearl hinged bangle. Of openwork design, the cushion-shape garnet, with split pearl and pear-shape garnet scrolling floral surround and sides, atop the twin spiral tapered bangle. Hallmarks for Chester, 1908. Inner diameter 5.8cms. Weight 12.2gms.

  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Wear to the gilt finish.
  • Safety chain broken.
  • One split pearl likely replacement, set at an angle, with glue visible.
  • Split pearls generally well matched, slight discolouration.
  • Garnets are a well matched slightly purplish red hue, typical inclusions. Minor abrasion.
  • Width (at widest) 1.8cms.
