Condition Report

A garnet and enamel ring. The replacement foil-back oval garnet cabochon collet, within a mid Victorian white enamel cannetille oval surround, to the later band. Ring size M. Total weight 4.8gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The cluster is late Victorian, the band has been added at a later date, the panel was possibly originally a link from an earring.
  • Replacement garnet, visible dents to the collet.
  • Wear abrasion and discolouration visible to the white enamel panels.
  • Dents visible to the reverse of the panel.
  • Typical scattered inclusions to the garnet visible with the unaided eye, some surface reaching inclusions.
