Condition Report

An Edwardian 15ct gold split pearl and tourmaline pendant. Of openwork design, the kite-shape pink tourmaline, suspended from a cushion-shape green tourmaline with split pearl surround, split pearl surmount and later 9ct gold trace-link chain. Chain with hallmarks for Sheffield. Length of pendant 4.6cms. Length of chain 45cms. Total weight 6.6gms. This piece has the colours commonly associated with the Suffragette movement.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Some claws bent, with slight wear, may require attention.
  • Probable replacement gems.
  • Surmount loop with soft solder visible to the reverse, possible replacement.
  • Split pearls fairly well matched, some set at slight angles.
  • Some split pearls with discolouration and slight wear.
  • Tourmaline are a medium deep slightly bluish green and a medium deep pink, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
