Condition Report

An early 20th century opal and diamond cluster ring. The oval opal cabochon, with old-cut diamond surround and grooved shoulders. Estimated total diamond weight 0.80ct. Ring size M 1/2. Weight 4.4gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Band shows evidence of resize.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched for colour.
  • Diamonds bright and lively.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Opal with white body colour and good play-of-colour. Opal displays green and blue play-of-colour.
  • Opal with some abrasion to the surface.
