A mid Victorian gold, turquoise and garnet snake necklace.

Description

Condition Report

A mid Victorian gold, turquoise and garnet snake necklace. The engraved scrolling snake head and entwined tail with garnet eyes and turquoise crest, suspending a turquoise locket drop from its open mouth, to the graduated snake-link chain. Length 39cms. Weight 22.3gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, slight discolouration and very minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Slight file scuffs and slight discolouration to the reverse of the head.
  • Turquoise are a light blue through deep blue and medium green hues. Garnet presumed foil back and appear a deep red hue. Typical inclusions.

  • Stones in good to fair condition with minor abrasions, three turquoise with small chips, one turtquoise cracked.
