Condition Report

A late Victorian silver mounted claret jug, the clear glass bulbous body rising to a cylindrical neck with silver collar and flat hinged lid having a foliate thumb-rest, with applied clear glass loop handle. Hallmarked John Grinsell & Sons, London 1893. Height including thumb-rest measuring 7 1/4 inches (18.5 cm).

Purchasing information
    The claret jug appears in good overall condition displaying some general wear, surface marks and scratches. Some heavier contact marks to the underside of the base. The hinged lid is in working order, however it is slightly out of alignment and a small gap remains when in the closed position. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
