Condition Report

A late Georgian brooch and an early Victorian mourning pendant. The late Georgian brooch of lozenge shape, with a white iridescent glazed panel with painted mourning scene to the centre and decorative seed pearls and fabric flowers to the surround, the pendant of navette shape, with split pearl frame to the glazed woven hair panel. Lengths 4.3 to 5.7cms. Weight 26.7gms.

Purchasing information

    The condition of this lot is fair to poor. To the first brooch, the upper part of the mount is loose, can be removed easily and does not sit flush to the lower part, the inside iridescent panel is loose and has many pieces of the decoration missing, there are some marks to the glass and mount in keeping with age and wear. The second brooch has discolouration to the underside of the glass, the setting around the glass does not sit flush with the edge of the glass and the glass overlaps it in places.
