Condition Report
A mid Victorian pearl and diamond brooch. The semi-baroque pearl, suspended from a similarly-shaped pearl within a vari-cut diamond foliate and bow surround. May be worn as a pendant. Estimated total diamond weight 2cts. Length 4cms. Weight 10.7gms. Pearls untested.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- The brooch fitting is a possible replacement, soft solder at visible at the join.
- Hinged surmount loop, surmount deficient.
- Drop possible replacement.
- The pearl drop has a replacement cap which has been re-attached with soft solder and the replacement cap has numerous deep scratches, stamped mark, possibly 9ct.
- Diamonds bright and fairly well matched, the pear-shape diamond appears more tinted than the old-cut diamonds.
- Principal diamonds estimated H-J colour, SI clarity.
- Individual size and setting of most diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Small, relatively few, scattered dark inclusions. Some small girdle nicks.
- Pearls are off-round, one a slightly yellowish cream hue with good rose and green overtones, the other is a silvery white hue, both with good lustre.

- Minor abrasions to the pearls, one appears to have a small crack to one side.
