A late Victorian gold, ruby and diamond heart pendant. The central cushion-shape ruby, with old-cut diamond surrounds and later 9ct gold surmount. Estimated total diamond weight 3cts. Surmount with later hallmarks for Birmingham. Length 3cms. Total weight 7gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Surmount and some of the bar fittings to the reverse are later, the bar fittings have mostly become unattached.
- The piece has been recently white-metal plated.
- One side of the mount has clasp fittings, possible alteration.
- Diamonds bright and well matched.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Few diamonds with small chips, few with surface reaching inclusions.
- Generally estimated H-J colour, SI clarity, some P1 clarity.
- Ruby is a deep medium slightly purplish red hue, slight window effect. Angular silk inclusions visible.
- Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
- Pendant mount has later 9ct gold hallmarks for Birmingham.
