Condition Report

An Edwardian double-sided miniature portrait locket. Of circular outline, painted to depict a young girl to one side and a baby to the other, suspended from an old-cut diamond and white enamel bow and detachable surmount. Estimated total diamond weight 0.20ct. Length 5.1cms. Total weight 15.1gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Portraits are each of a blond haired, blue-eye'd female, presumably related.
  • The manufacture of the case prevents opening to see the reverse of the portraits.
  • Portraits appear in good condition.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Small, scattered inclusions.
  • Enamel with few deep chips and minor losses.
  • Glass with some surface scrathes.
  • Diameter of central panel 3.3cms. Width 0.6cm.
