A mid Victorian gold ruby and diamond ring, circa 1860. The vari-shape ruby line, with old-cut diamond line sides and interwoven, openwork shoulders. Estimated total diamond weight 0.30ct. Ring size K1/2. Weight 2.6gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Repair/resize to the back of the band.
- Some replacement gems.
- Diamonds fairly well matched.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Scattered, varied inclusions.
- One diamond chipped.
- Rubies are a fairly well matched medium deep moderately purplish red hue, one ruby noticeably less saturated in colour and appearing slightly orangey.
- Rubies with small chips and nicks, moderate abrasion.
- Foreign mark to the outside of the back of the band, worn, possibly French.
- Length of gem-set ring head 1.1cms.
