A mid Victorian gold foil-back topaz and split pearl cluster brooch, circa 1850. The oval-shape foil-back golden topaz, with split pearl and later cannetille surrounds. Length 2.4cms. Weight 6.6gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Later cannetille surround.
- Discolouration and soft solder marks to reverse of brooch.
- Replacement pin.
- Split pearls with slight yellowish greyish lustre.
- Some split pearls with damage to nacre.
- Topaz medium very slight orangish yellow, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.
- Some slight discolouration to foil backing, seen through the stone, in keeping with age.
- Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
