A mid 19th century gold sapphire and diamond ring.

Condition Report

A mid 19th century gold sapphire and diamond ring. The oval-shape sapphire collet, with old-cut diamond sides and foliate shoulders, to the replacement band. Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct. Ring size K1/2. Weight 3.2gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement band.
  • Possible replacement sapphire and collet mount, gold colours differ slightly.
  • Some possible replacement diamonds, some appear ill-fitting to the mount.
  • Diamonds relatively bright and well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • One of the smaller diamonds chipped.
  • The sapphire is a vibrant, deep medium blue hue.
  • Small nicks and minor abrasion.
  • Gem-set ring head 19 by 14mms.
