A mid Victorian memorial enamel and split pearl brooch. Of quatrefoil outline, the central oval-shape onyx panel carved to depict a flower, with split pearl border to the black enamel surround with acanthus leaf pattern and a personal inscription and a vacant glazed panel to the reverse. Length 4.2cms. Weight 13.2gms.

Purchasing information-
The condition of this lot is fair, with surface scratches to the metal, enamel and glass in keeping with age and wear. The pin is a replacement and is misshapen. The jump-ring to the loop to the reverse is a replacement. Some light discolouration to the reverse of the brooch. The inscription to the reverse reads 'Mary Hargreaves Obt 8th June 1843'.
