Description

Condition Report

BREMONT - a limited edition gentleman's Codebreaker chronograph wrist watch. Number 131 of 240. Stainless steel case with exhibition case back. Numbered 131. Signed automatic movement. Black dial with Arabic numeral hour markers, subsidiary recorder dials between four and five and between seven and eight, date aperture to six. Fitted to a signed black crocodile strap with stainless steel pin buckle. 43mm. Papers. In 2013 Bremont launched the 'Codebreaker' watch in conjunction with the Bletchley Park Trust. This GMT, fly-back chronograph incorporates a number of historical artefacts into this commemorative piece. The crown contains wood from Hut 6, the centre for work on the German army and air force codes. Part of the winding rotor is made from the wheel of an Enigma machine while the limited series number on the case band is made up from paper from one of the few remaining punch cards used to decrypt the Enigma communications. The production was limited to 300 pieces, 240 in steel and 60 in rose gold.
