Condition Report

BREITLING - a gentleman's Professional Emergency bracelet watch. Titanium case with calibrated bezel. Reference E56121.1, serial 5059. Quartz movement. Blue dial with Arabic numeral hour markers, digital displays to twelve and six. Fitted to a signed titanium Professional bracelet with folding clasp. 43mm. Box.

This was the watch worn by Brian Jones OBE during the historic first circumnavigation of the globe by balloon in 1999. It was provided by Breitling as sponsors of the mission, as shown on the consignment papers. The flight took 19 days 21hrs and set the record for the longest duration and furthest distance of any flight within the Earth's atmosphere. Lot to include limited edition, signed and mounted piece of the Breitling Orbiter 3 balloon, signed copy of The Greatest Adventure book, Interactive CD ROM, signed photographs, mission badge and signed Swiss first day cover.

  • Dial appears to be in a generally good condition with no marks visible when viewed under a 4x loupe.
  • Hands appear to be in a generally good condition.
  • Glass appears free of significant scratches or marks when viewed under a 4x loupe.
  • Case shows light scratches and marks. Rotating bezel rotates.
  • Crown has light scratches and marking.
  • Bracelet appears to be in a generally good condition, with light scratches and no signs of significant stretching, twisting or distortion of the links.
  • Clasp is currently functioning and appears to be in good condition.
  • Bracelet measures approximately 17cm including case.

    This lot comes with a box showing moderate wear but no papers.
