A late Victorian silver and gold gem-set butterfly brooch.

Condition Report

A late Victorian silver and gold, gem-set butterfly brooch. Comprising a ruby and split pearl thorax and abdomen, with rose-cut diamond, sapphire and ruby wings. Brooch fitting detachable. Length 3.6cms. Total weight 10gms.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphires medium blue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.
