A late Victorian silver and gold, gem-set butterfly brooch. Comprising a ruby and split pearl thorax and abdomen, with rose-cut diamond, sapphire and ruby wings. Brooch fitting detachable. Length 3.6cms. Total weight 10gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.

- Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevent total carat weight estimation.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Split pearls with cream body colour and good lustre.
- Sapphires medium blue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.
- Rubies medium-dark red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.
- Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
