Condition Report

A sapphire necklace. The late Victorian sapphire and diamond point pendant, suspended from a sapphire cabochon arts and crafts chain, with trace-link back-chain and later clasp. AF. Length 48cms. Weight 23.3gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Clasp is not affixed to each end of the chain, would need repair.
  • Chain has a tendency to twist and some of the links catch so need purposefully straightening.
  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphires medium-dark blue, fairly well matched.

  • Stones in good to fair condition.

  • With safety clasp.

  • Length of marquise-shape drop 3.3cms.
