Condition Report

A modern pair of silver goblets, each of plain chalice form raised upon a circular splayed foot, engraved with opposing inscriptions commemorating the 800th Anniversary of St. Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, in fitted blue cases, each with a certificate confirming issue date AD 1943 and AD 1884. Hallmarked Albert Edward Jones, Birmingham 1971 & 1972. Maximum height measures 5 2/8 inches (13.4 cm), gross weight of goblets 14 ozt (436.4 grams). 'Melton Mobraye i63i, Calix Benedictionis'

Purchasing information
    In good overall condition, the lot displays general surfaces scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Each goblet is engraved with the inscriptions 'Melton Mobraye i63i, Calix Benedictionis', one is engraved AD 1943 beneath the base, the other AD 1884 corresponding to the accompanying certificates. The fitted blue cases shut fully flush. Hallmarks clear and legible.
