An early George III pierced silver swing-handled basket with glass liner.

Description

Condition Report

An early George III pierced silver sweetmeat basket, the circular flared form with geometric and scroll pierced sides and a later blue glass liner, the swing handle with oval piercing. Hallmarked William Plummer, London 1769. Height to handle mount measuring 3 inches (7.5 cm), silver weight 2.29 ozt (71.3 grams).

Purchasing information
    The basket appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some expected general tarnishing, surface wear, marks and scratches. Some visible solder repairs to the swing handle. The hallmarks are located to the underside of the base and are clear and legible. Blue glass liner is a later replacement and is in good condition.
