Condition Report

A late Victorian silver and gold, diamond 'man in the moon' brooch. The carved moonstone, with rose-cut diamond surround and knife-edge bar sides. Length 4cms. Total weight 2.6gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents estimated total carat weight.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Moonstone with small chip to the 'chin' area, some other small nicks and abrasion too.
  • Diameter of cluster 1.2cms.
